Samsung is in process of revealing another one of its mind blowing products earlier next year. About two weeks back, we saw a Samsung flip-phone with dual-display passing Tenaa certification. The listing revealed the device’s specifications but there were no images shown. Now, the listing shows the smartphone in images as well.
Clamshell handsets died in the west a long time ago. However, such handsets are still trendy in some Asian markets today, including those of China and India. That is why LG and Samsung continue to dish out flip Android hybrids. Previous clamshell handsets unveiled by Samsung include Galaxy Golden and Samsung Galaxy Golden 2.
It is expected that the third handset would be called the Galaxy Golden 3. According to a highly reliable source, SamMOBILE, the new handset would come with the model number SM-W2016. It would be a part of the Galaxy Golden series, the first of which was released back in 2013.
The phone has been dubbed by many as a clone of Samsung Galaxy S6. As per the images on the Tenaa listing, the phone would be very much like its predecessors, with dual-screens and a T9-style keyboard. Many of its design features are similar to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 including its curved outer design panel on the bottom half, as well as its camera setup design.
As for its specifications, the phone comes with a 2.1GHz, Exynos 7, Octa core processor with 3GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage. It would be sporting a 16MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and a 5.5-inch HD display with Android 5.1 pre-loaded.
While the phone will first be introduced in China, we’re not sure yet whether it would launch in India. The phone would cost somewhere around $780. Although, the price seems huge, specifications like these ensure that every dollar paid would be worth their value.
